ALEC's motto, "Developing Human Potential", was evident at the CASNR Award Luncheon. Two of ALEC's student workers, and two faculty members were nominated for awards. Mirissa Scholting, ALEC Student Ambassador, won the Outstanding Student Worker Award!

Dr. Gina Matkin, associate professor in agricultural leadership, education and communication at Nebraska, gave the commencement address at the graduate and professional degrees ceremony for the December graduates. 

ALEC's very own, Matt Kreifels, is in the "Faculty Spotlight" in the IANR News!

Dr. Mark Balschweid, ALEC Department Head, and Dr. Kathleen Lodl, Associate Dean and State 4-H Program Leader, answer the question, "Why is Science Literacy important to the public?".

Dr. Lloyd Bell, professor in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, receives the Al Sick award for outstanding service to the Nebraska FFA Alumni at the 2019 Nebraska FFA Alumni & Supporters Convention.

Dr. Helen Fagan, an assistant professor of agricultural leadership, education and communication will deliver the keynote address "Every Story Matters" at the Our Nebraska events. Dr. Fagan, is the chief executive officer and founder of the Global Leadership Group.

The documentary  “Follow the Water” will be shown from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 31 at Hardin Hall Auditorium, 3310 Holdrege St. Mike Forsberg, ALEC associate professor of practice, and  Pete Stegen, a filmmaker, will be in attendance and a panel discussion will follow.

Dr. Lindsay Hastings, Clifton Professor in Mentoring Research and Director, Nebraska Human Resources Institute, has made the IANR News Spotlight. Lindsay shares what she loves about working in an educational setting in the ALEC department, and what drew her to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dr. L.J. McElravy, ALEC Assistant Professor of Youth Civic Leadership, talks to IANR News about what drew him to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and how he loves the collaborative environment within education. Dr. McElravy draws upon his service in the U.S. Army and how that experience helps him today.
