Raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Brytany Gama is a senior Agricultural Education-Leadership major. During her time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she helped establish the UNL Chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) to create a space that promotes diversity and inclusion for underrepresented students on campus. She has also served as a National Ambassador for MANRRS.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s homecoming celebration features six distinguished alumni of color returning to campus to share expertise within their respective colleges and directly with students.

Organized by the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of People of Color, the visits are part of Multicultural Homecoming events being offered through Oct. 1.

Participating alumni, year of graduation and respective college are:

Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication major, Natalie Jones, is a fifth-generation Nebraska rancher and third-generation University of Nebraska-Lincoln grad. She will start her next chapter from an office in Agricultural Hall as a media specialist.

4-H Extension Educator and ALEC graduate Julie Kreikemeier, talks about the floods across Colfax County and how she tries to make 4-H a space of stability for students and their families.

Kara Bruns, ALEC Alumni, talks about what graduating from UNL means to her and her future.

Master's of Applied Science student and ALEC alumni, Rachel Ibach, talks about why she came to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and how it's diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in her CASNR experience.
