Admist UNL announcing it was canceling in-person classes on March 12 due to the COVID-19 virus Kelsey Swantek, a freshman ag education major in the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication department, brings a smile to a familiar face in the Massengale Residential Center.

Tammy De Leon, a custodian in Nebraska’s East Campus Massengale Residential Center, arrived at work on March 18 to a collective effort for a special surprise .

On March 24, 2020 is National Ag Day! It is a time when producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America gather to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by American agriculture.

Ethan Freese, master's of applied science student and an ALEC graduate research assistant, is one of the students that are working on the, "Prairie Corridor project". While Ethan participated in the prairie planting experiment, he also had a project of his own, funded by Nebraska Environmental Trust; Cabela’s Apprenticeship; or UCARE funds, the “Platte Basin Timelapse: Prairie Corridor,” by Ethan Freese, an applied science graduate student.

Eric Knoll is an assistant professor of practice for the Department of Agricultural Leadership Education and Communication with a focus on skilled and technical sciences pre-service teacher preparation. Eric talks about his reason for coming to UNL to teach and what aspect of working in an educational setting he enjoys.

4-H Extension Educator and ALEC graduate Julie Kreikemeier, talks about the floods across Colfax County and how she tries to make 4-H a space of stability for students and their families.

The Education Abroad Office hosted a reception honoring faculty and staff who supported faculty-led programs in the 2018-19 academic year. Dr.'s L.J. McElravy and Nathan Conner were presented the “Most Innovative” award.

On Tuesday morning an ALEC Twitter post highlighting two outstanding ALEC students was featured on the KLKN News "You Post, We Report" segment. Incoming students, Faith Santana and Megan Fehr, committed a year of service to Nebraska FFA, its members and the agriculture industry as State Officers. Santana and Fehr, along with five other team members, were responsible for facilitating FFA conferences, meeting with business and industry representatives, traveling statewide to FFA chapters, serving as delegates at the National FFA Convention, and more.
