Dr. L.J. McElravy, an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, was selected as Associate Dean in the Office of Graduate Studies following an open search process.

This position follows a year where Dr. McElravy served in the interim role for graduate student and postdoctoral professional development. This 50% appointment will allow L. J. to continue the work he started this past year as well as conducting teaching and development workshops, coordinating graduate student and postdoctoral orientation and training, and leading specific programs such as Preparing Future Faculty, Nebraska Summer Research Program and Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning at Nebraska.

Dr. McElravy will continue to serve as ALEC’s Graduate Program Coordinator and represent ALEC’s Leadership Program on the Steering Committee, while teaching classes, advising graduate students and maintaining his Extension appointment.
