Dr. Stacie Turnbull is an ALEC Out-State Faculty Member in the Agricultural Education in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication (ALEC). She supports current and pre-service teachers in the area of Agriculture and Skilled and Technical Science. Her role also includes being a point of contact for Ag Ed and STS transfer students from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, Central Community College, and Southeast Community College.
Stacie helps develop professional development opportunities for Nebraska teachers, interacts with students considering teaching, supports student teachers, co-leads the Nebraska Beginning Teacher program, and supports early career programing. Additionally, she serves as a co-advisor for the ALEC Teacher Prep Club and co- chair for the State Teach Ag Results (STAR) Committee.
Previously, she served as a high school agriculture educator in Nebraska and South Dakota and held the role of State Director of Agriculture Education for the Nebraska Department of Education.
Education
Stacie earned her bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Agriculture Education from Iowa State University.
Research:
She has a particular interest in biotechnology education and creating strong professional development for early and career teachers.
