Dr. Lindsay Hastings is the Clifton Professor in Mentoring Research and Research Director for NHRI Leadership Mentoring at UNL. Dr. Hastings teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership theory and leadership development and has received the Outstanding Educator of the Year award from the Association of Students at the University of Nebraska and the Robin Orr Outstanding Practitioner Award from the Association of Leadership Educators. Dr. Hastings’ research advances scholar and practitioner knowledge in leadership mentoring, community leadership development, and youth leadership, which has received the Dr. Ron Joekel Research Award and the Sage Outstanding Scholar Award.

Teaching:

Dr. Hastings teaches courses in interpersonal skills for leadership, leadership theory, and leadership development, and is the co-coordinator for the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Minor.

Lindsay's programmatic focus is on NHRI Leadership Mentoring that pairs outstanding college student leaders with outstanding K-12 student leaders in one-to-one relationships.

In Extension, Dr. Hastings is a conduit to use leadership research findings to improve leadership practice in the following ways:
