About
Fikadu Reta Alemayehu is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a Specialization in Leadership Studies in the department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is also a research assistant for the Rural Prosperity Nebraska program. His MSc degree is in Agricultural Development with a major in Food and Human Nutrition security from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
Fikadu is a founder and general manager of the Youth and Education Support Service Ethiopia (YessEthiopia) a non-profit organization, which is currently becoming YessGlobal. He has been teaching staff members at Hawassa University, College of Agriculture, Human Nutrition department in Ethiopia since 2005. His undergraduate study was in Rural Development and Family Sciences from Hawassa University.
Fikadu has been actively engaging in the Ethiopian Nutrition Leaders Network. He is serving as a communication and public relations focal, as well as administration of the online Ethiopian Agriculture to Nutrition community forum. Fikadu is a certified Life skills and Career Trainer. He has rich experience in managing research and development projects of a total budget of $2 million dollars. He is supporting six orphanage centers in Ethiopia which are giving shelter and emergency support to more than 350 orphans.
