ALEC 136 is a foundational course tht introduces strategic storytelling for agricultural and environmental sciences audiences. To explore different communication styles, students engage in multimedia projects using free platforms, as part of a mini-campaign for their department.
ALEC 260: Introduction to Digital Media in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences
In ALEC 260, students gain hands-on experience with tools like Adobe Lightroom, Premiere, and InDesign while exploring their passions in agriculture. Students write and design community profiles to be featured on the website for Nebraska Extension's Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign.
ALEC 361: Video and Audio Production for Communicating Agricultural & Environmental Sciences
In ALEC 361, students learn about promoting, marketing, and communicating through audio and video channels. Specifically, students create podcasts and interviews, that meets industry-standard quality.
ALEC 480: Capstone Experience in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences Communication
In ALEC 480, students refine writing, photo, design, and video skills to develop and execute a communications campaign for a client. They create podcasts, videos, infographics and website content to fulfill the campaign goals.
