Matt Kreifels

Matt teaches courses in leadership and field experiences and works with student teachers and beginning agriscience teachers. As state director of agricultural education, he co-coordinates professional development for current Nebraska agricultural education teachers, directs statewide curriculum efforts, assists in creating new secondary agricultural education programs and coordinates the Nebraska Career Development Events.

Matt earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences from UNL and his master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Wayne State College. Before coming to UNL, he taught agricultural education courses and served as FFA advisor for nine years at Blair High School. His current split position between UNL and the Nebraska Department of Education is unique and helps create a synergy between the university's teacher-education efforts and the state's efforts to manage those teachers in the field.
