From the canyons and cornfields of Hayes County comes Rebel Sjeklocha, a freshman Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communications major. On campus she is a member of the Husker Equestrian Team, Collegiate Farm Bureau, the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow club, and her sorority, Chi Omega.

Growing up, Rebel was an active member of 4-H and FFA, which positively supplemented her upbringing on a farm and cattle operation. Rebel’s passion for agriculture began at an early age and stems from her family’s involvement in the industry and the continually rising importance of agricultural literacy. Her passion for communication and public speaking came later, when she became involved in speech and mock trial in high school. Rebel is currently Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2018 and enjoys traveling the state attending rodeos, making school visits, and educating the public about the sport of rodeo and the western way of life.

In the future, Rebel would like to become an agricultural attorney to help farmers and ranchers pass on their livelihoods to the next generation, as well as defend the natural resources that are vital to their operations.
